Emily's First Haircut!

Today Emily went to have her first haircut! They had her sit on a big booster seat on top of the chair and she wasn't so sure about that. However, she was very brave and sat like a big girl for the hairdresser. She is so happy and excited to show off her new do! Mommy is recovering nicely. ;-)

Pudding Fun!

Today the girls played with pudding! Emily started out by "finger painting" with it and quickly remembered she didn't like getting messy and switched to cookie cutters and spoons.

Claire on the other hand only thought it was food! :-)

Halloween Fun

CLAIRE MARIE NOLAN

Weighing in at: 17lbs 13oz (6%tile)
Towering in at: 26.75in (8%tile)
Head butting in at: 18in (70%tile)

She's lean, she's mean, she's a fighting machine! That's our girl. Little, but solid and a big head. ;-) Her height/weight ratio puts her in at 60% so she's at least pretty proportionate.

She is pulling herself up to standing on anything, everything, and anybody. The last day or so has started to slowly cruise on furniture a bit. I predict walking in the next month or two. She cracks us up with her antics and "evil" smile when she's up to no good. When she wants something she doesn't STOP...ever. LOL She is saying "dadda, mamma, yesssssss, buh bye, and buh buh (bottle)". She now claps when she is really happy about something (which is typically listening to music) and has started singing along.

It's hard to believe our little one is...well...ONE! But it is so exciting to see her grow!

Claire is ONE!

Wow, this year has definitely flown by! Our little Claire is now one year old today! On Sunday we had a party with family to celebrate and here is the slide show of the highlights. Her well-baby appointment is on Wednesday and we'll be sure to share stats then.

Emily's day out with Mommy...

Today Mommy and I went into Boston with some friends to play at the Boston Children's Museum. I had so much fun playing in the various rooms and can't wait to go back soon. Mommy took so many pictures that she is including a slideshow for you to visit of it. You can also see some pictures with my friends Brody and Joel. Enjoy!

Claire is 9mo!

Hard to believe our little one is growing up so fast! She is now crawling around the house EVERYWHERE and trying to play with all her big sister's toys which doesn't make Emily happy. ;-) She's eating solid foods and can feed herself finger food. She LOVES blueberries as you can see in the picture. :-)

She had her 9mo appt today and here are the stats:

HEIGHT: 26.5in (14%tile)

WEIGHT: 15lbs 5oz (3%tile)

HEAD: 17.5in (64%tile)

So still small and skinny with a big head. LOL

We thought she popped her first tooth yesterday (first time I felt anything) but the little bugger kept thrusting her tongue out to thwart any successful attempts at confirmation. When I mentioned it to the doctor he said he'd take a look for me and COULDN'T for the same reason. LOL He complimented me on her strong tongue. ;-) We did get confirmation, however, after her shot today when she started screaming. It pulled the tongue back and I could see TWO teeth (the bottom two center) had poked through the gum. So we've got teeth!!!

Emily Sees Her First Movie At The Theater

Emily went to see her first movie in a movie theater today...Toy Story 3. When the PIXAR logo came on the screen she said (rather loudly) "the lamp is going to jump on the 'i' Daddy...see it squished it!". Needless to say, the entire theater laughed! (I guess she's seen a few PIXAR films.)

Ice Cream For Dinner?!

As you can see, Emily loves her vanilla ice cream and Claire definitely enjoyed her first experience with the tasty treat.

Emily and Claire's new stats...

Today Emily and Claire had their "well-child" appointments and we have new stats to share! Emily had to have one shot (and did so like a pro!), and Claire had to have two.

Emily at 3 years-old:

Height: 36.25in (32nd%tile)
Weight: 26lbs (7th%tile)
BMI: 13.9 (4th%tile)

Claire at 6 months:

Height: 23.75in (3rd%tile)
Weight: 13lbs3oz (5th%tile)
BMI not calculated for under 2 years

So as the doctor told me, Emily is short and skinny for her age...Claire is just short. LOL Here is a new picture of the girls together. Enjoy!

On Saturday March 27th, Emily had her 3rd birthday party with her friends.

Disney Princesses on Ice

We went to the Disney Princesses on Ice show with our own little Cinderella on Thursday and she had a BLAST. She was spinning and giggling in front of our seats during the Cinderella part and she was making not only us but those around us smile with her giddiness. ;-)

This is a picture of the "girls" before the show started. Daddy was there but behind the camera. ;-) Claire wasn't so sure what to make of the place, not to mention it was close to her bedtime.


This is a picture of both girls zonked out on the way home after the big night. Being Cinderella and dancing along to the songs is TIRING. :-)

Claire's Teething

Not to be outdone, Claire wants everyone to know that teething isn't fun. But trying to make the gums feel better is! She will chew on her hands, our hands, and even fake hands! LOL (Well that and anything else she can get her hands on.)

Emily is now known as....Cinderella

Emily has become obsessed with everything Cinderella and is convinced if she has the right dress and shoes on she turns into her (thanks to Mel and Audrey for that). :-) Mommy and Daddy have been wrangled into being Prince Charming or the Duke in order to see if the "shoe" fits on a daily basis. Oh, and the transformation involves her spinning in circles and having us ask her "what is happening Emily?" with her answering "I'm turning into Cinderella!" (And yes, she does know that is a "Sleeping Beauty" dress but claims it can also be Cinderella's pink dress).


The biggest bonus for mommy is that Emily wants to be Cinderella at ALL POINTS of the movie and begs to do housework. Vacuuming has now become a daily event. ;-)

February Update on the girls...

It's hard to believe that Claire is already 4 months old! She had her appt last week and here are her stats:

Height: 23.25in (14%tile)
Weight: 11lbs 6oz (7%tile)
Head: 16.5in (61%tile)

So still very short and skinny but a big head. It must be the big brain that she is sporting because we can already tell we are in for some trouble when she starts moving around. ;-) She is still sporting beautiful baby blue eyes, and her daddy is hoping she will keep them so that he can share that with someone other then Emily's rattle dolly and daughter ducky. :-)

She is rolling from back to front and tonight while doing tummy time rolled from front to back for the first time. Woohoo! Here is a picture of her tonight just before she did that:


She is cooing and giggling now which is so cute to hear. She also ADORES her sister Emily and is always arching herself to see her if she can't at that moment, and following her with her eyes when she cans. She also always has a big smile for her Daddy!


Emily is such a big girl now too, and will be three in just a couple of months. Her favorite thing to do now is wear her "ballerina" dresses and dance around the house.


That, or playing on mommy's laptop or daddy's iPod Touch (she's very serious about her games on it!). Emily amazes us everyday with her antics, commentary, and actions. She definitely keeps us on our toes!


Emily for the most part is still a fan of her little sister, but maybe not as mesmerized as her little sister is with her. :-)

Update with the girls!

I know it's been a while, but things are busy with two! :-)

1) Claire has discovered two new things in the past few weeks. She has figured out how to roll onto her tummy (except her right arm keeps getting in the way), and also her thumb. Looks like we have a thumb sucker this time around.

2) Emily LOVES the snow and I can't seem to get her out in it often enough. She just started Music Together classes with Mommy and will start pre-school next week for the first time. She's growing up so fast!


3) The girls love each other and it amazes me how cute they can be.
